This unbelievable monolith is a must see. It less than 1 kilometer from Okadera train station.
The stone steps are smallish but safe.
The natural path is fairly easy to follow.
Bamboo forest fans will love the scenery.
The photographs were taken December 14, 2017.
The monolith is 11 meters long, 8 meters wide and 4.7 meters high. We were unable to climb it.
No one knows why it was made, who made it nor when it was made.
The upper portion is very smooth. How was it done?
Unfortunately most information is in Japanese only.
The square holes go all the way through the monolith.
We spent over 1 hour taking photos, touching and walking around the monolith. It is awesome.
